GMO Research
An Invitation: You have been invited to a very prestigious Global Agricultural Summit to present your findings on a particular organism. Your colleagues (classmates) are counting on you to update them on the most recent research regarding advancements in gene modification. You will select a Genetically Modified Organism (GMO), research it, and create an infographic with the pertinent information on it. The following outline and rubric will help guide your product creation.
Step 1: Choose the GMO you will research.
Possible topics: bt corn flavr savr, golden rice, roundup ready soybeans, insulin producing plant (Costus igneus), arctic apples, etc. Step 2: Open this note sheet and make a copy. Step 3: Open Clever. Go to Reference Databases. Search World Book to find an article on GMOs and get a definition of GMOs. Record the defintion and citation in the note sheet. Step 4: Open Clever. Go to Reference Databases. Search Gale Science in Context to find an article on the GMO you are researching. Use the article to answer the questions on your note sheet. Step 5: Use the links below to find more specific information on your GMO.
